Bristol Theatre Company presents James and the Giant Peach at Reynolds School

Posted

The Old Green Grasshopper, the Centipede, Ms. Spider and the rest of their insect friends will crash their giant magical peach on Bristol this weekend as the Bristol Theatre Company presents its production of James and the Giant Peach.

Based on the 1961 children’s novel by Roald Dahl, the book chronicles young boy James, who has no friends until he stumbles upon a giant peach and the many insects inside who take him on a wild, magical ride. That ride will land at the former Reynolds School on High Street this weekend.

Directed locally by Diane Campagna and Samantha Brilhante, the theatre company’s production puts a musical spin on the classic children’s tale, and stars young actors and actresses from around the region.

The show is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Aug, 4-5 at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors, and are available online at BTCJames.brownpapertickets.com. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for each performance for $20.

The former Reynolds School, home to the theatre company and other artistic endeavors, is located at 235 High St.
