Loved spending time with her large family
Mary Aura (Santos) Costa, age 85, of Benjamin Church Manor, 1014 Hope St., Bristol, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Costa.
Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Costa) Santos. A homemaker, she was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church, Bristol, and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by nine children, Joseph A. Costa Jr. of East Providence, Robert B. Costa, Louis V. Costa and his wife, Delores, Cheryl A. Dugan and her husband, Sean, Linda M. Jennings and her husband, Gary, Marilyn J. Costa, Susan M. Constancia and her husband, Joseph, Marianne Constancia and her husband, Fred, and Lori J. Acciardo and her husband, William, all of Bristol; 13 grandchildren, Bobbie Joe Palmer, Steven Lemire, Erica Federico, Donald Castigliego, Jessica Sousa, Robert Cabral, Stephanie Constancia, Lauren Jennings, Marissa Constancia, Louis J. Costa, Joseph Constancia, Gary Pike and Emily Costa; eight great-grandchildren, Teia Chenevert, Kaitlin Palmer, Damon Castigliego, Steven Sousa, Kylie Palmer, Aiden Aguiar, Leia Sousa and Kelsey Palmer; a brother, Joseph Santos of Morgantown, W. Va.; four sisters, Matilda Daniel of Lompoc, Calif., Lydia Holt of Bristol, Louise Ritchie of Warren and Laura Hochberg of Plainville, Mass.
Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, are Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at 9 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours will be Sunday, Nov. 1, from 2 to 5 p.m.
