Men post sign in front of Barrington Post Office
On Tuesday, Nov. 3, at about 10:30 a.m., two young men hung a large banner in front of the Barrington branch of the United States Post Office on Middle Highway. The banner was of U.S. President Barrack Obama sporting a small moustache, much like that made famous by Nazi leader Adolph Hitler. Under the picture it read, “I’ve Changed.”
The men, who declined to be interviewed for this story, passed out literature put out by LaRouche Political Action Committee. The committee, under the direction of Lyndon LaRouche Jr., is against President Obama’s health care reform and other global issues. They produce pamphlets and literature, and the website is full of web asts and videos, essays and information on the wrongdoings of political policies in the world. The LaRouche Committee has offices all over the country, and the Barrington Post office was not the only one with demonstrators out in front.
Barrington Postmaster Chuck Narciso said the Barrington Police were called because the large banner was attached to wires belonging to local phone companies, which is not allowed. The men set up other posters on the sidewalk in front of the post office, which according to the postmaster is allowable, as long as they did not step on the government property.
“When I called our public affairs office, they knew what I was calling about because they had received calls from other postmasters. They said it was okay for them to be out there as long as they didn’t come on our property,” Mr. Narciso said.
Another man was on the sidewalk holding a poster. Barrington resident Bob Cavallaro had gone to the post office earlier in the day with his wife and saw the banner. He went home and made his own poster that read, “I respect the president and the presidency.”
Mr. Cavallaro said he was offended by the picture of President Obama with a Hitler moustache and felt it was disrespectful.
The post office is directly across the street from Barrington Middle School and Mr. Cavallaro said he planned to stay in front of the post office until students were dismissed from school so they could see another side of demonstrating.
“I want the kids to know that we should show respect for our president. What they are doing shows no respect,” he said.
I would have loved to have been there. How can they compare what Hitler did in his genocide of hundreds of thousands of Jews ever equate to what President Obama has done. We all have a right to free speech and expression, but this is way out of line.
These two men should have thought of who they are offending...and one more thing...Lyndon LaRouche is a very troubled person... his cult like following makes me sick...
And shame on any Barrington resident for letting the poster remain there...If I knew this poster was up...or will be up again, I guarantee you I will be there tearing it down...I will be happy to deal with the consequences.
Pretty sad well I disagree with Obama on health care and dragging feet well good you soldiers are dying these lydon laroche wacko's as allways finf a way to get in the news. Perhaps they just dont get it that laroche views are more like hitler than anyone wioth the exception of Farakan maybe. What a shame.

Oh should have added that the same thing was done to Bushes Picture at quite a few Acorn, code pink, and Seiu rallies years ago so I guess it will never stop there morons eveywhere and in a free society you have to put up with them when it comes to free speach even if we abhore it.

Ok, guys, show me where an organized group with thousands of members and a large budget like Larouche did this to Bush.
I'll be waiting a long time...because, it was never done! Of course, Bush tortured people, lied to us and the whole world, caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands, took away many liberties, etc.........but even he is not comparable to Hitler.
Obama is like....the complete opposite of Hitler. He is inclusive and advocates negotiation as opposed to appealing in the "Homeland over ALL" ideals of Adolph.

Mr. Larouche, of course, is a CRIMINAL...so he may be comparable in some way to Hitler:
"He was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment in 1988 for conspiracy to commit mail fraud and tax code violations"
He is also considered a cult leader, conspiracy theorist, fascist, and antisemite..so, yeah, he fits the definition pretty well.
That ANYONE would agree with him is a telling fact.
Look the bottom line is that it doesn't matter what group is protesting obama bush or any other canidate. It is well know and can be found that this has happened at numerous rallies obama and bush rallies and invaribly the ones in all cases turn out to be Larouche people. They do this because who would go to a Larouche rally anyway the guy is scum and lower than whale poop. You are right craig they are nuts. I do not support anyone comparing anyone to hitler except other ones who were as bad if not worse I.E. Stalin,Pol pot. Moa, ETC. It is an insult to those who were murdered in the Holocaust.
Perhaps people would have a better understanding if the visited the Holocaust museum in Washington it will make you have a whole new outlook of mans cruelty to man and prove to you that the lifeform called human is the most vile destructive killer ever to be on this planet.

LaRouche is Stalin
BTW, LaRouche people are against Obamas health care because they want something vastly more radical....Single Payer System (like Canada).
They are not against it for the same reasons as most Republicans and big business types....
Strangely enough, I would like to see single payer - it is the only real solution. At the same time, any group that needs to get attention by putting up Hitler posters is nothing I will get near.
I agree with everything you said there craig except single payer system I have seen how canada works first hand with death of 2 aunts because of the way that system works so i'm biased against it. I still don't know the right plan but that monstrosity sitting in congress right now that the CBO said yesturday covers 2% and the vast part of it doesn't even start till 2020 man we need to replace everyone in congress it seems no-one there knows what they are doing.

Oh and the most terrifying thing about LaRouche is I dont remember when it was but that man at one time got a few million votes in the 70's or 80's I think it was. Goes to show how anything can and does happen all the time. now that was scarey. Anybody who thinks that guy has one once of brains or cares for anything other than himself need a total lombotomy.

Figured I does this separate “Bush Tortured people” Bush didn’t torture anyone to this day there is much ambiguity on what torture is and what is an enhanced interrogation that was used. So the answer to that is still up in the air. Obama still reserves the right to used enhanced interrogations.
“Bush Lied” to us and the whole world, Never been proved and has been investigated by every reputable news organization in the country. If your referring to Iraq and WMD’s well Congress saw the same intelligence Bush did and voted almost 100% To go to war, right or wrong they all did it, on that information, I would point out that in intelligence there are so many people involved if there really was a conspiracy there is no way you could make that many people be silent and we would know it by now. Obama however far as I remember voted funding for the war once he became a senator though he still said he was against dumb wars.
“Bush caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands” No clue where you get those numbers at all. There is no way to have reliable numbers on this, since this war began, like Vietnam the enemy has killed so indiscriminately every single day to the tune of 100’s to thousands in a single day, from the start of the war and then tries to blame it on the U.S. The fact is we have the most technological killing machine ever devised by man. That is the U.S. Military and they do go out of their way to the point at times of losing our own in trying not to cause civilian deaths. And after all it is war and war is hell period.
“Bush took away many liberties” I love this one because I still don’t know or seen on any news program a single case where that happened to an American Citizen and if it has and was that bad then where are these vast number of cases that it happened I’m pretty sure the ACLU would be on the news every day parading people if it happened, evidently it hasn’t, If it is in reference to the Patriot act, well Obama did not repeal it as he could have with an Executive Order his first day in office to suspend it yes Presidents can do that forcing Congress to readdress it well it is suspended he didn’t, The democrats took over the House and the Senate in 2006 they didn’t repeal it either and could have. The Obama administration currently is pushing for the extension of the act since it expires December 31st it has very few revisions in it that change it hardly at all from the same one Bush had.
On Hitler as I said before there is no comparison to him as you state. The one thing we can count on his genetic code stopped with his surviving family members refusing to have any children ever, I always thought that was a very Noble thing for his family to do though it is not widely known.

Well, the teabaggers just stuck a knife in the heart of the GOP...made them lose an election in NY State to congress that was held by the GOP for over 100 years!

As to torture, etc, Jack.....I side with Mr. McCain and virtually EVERYONE who looks at it (other than Cheney and special interests, of course) that we not only tortured, but used rendition to "approve" of other countries torture. That is a marked change from the way we have done business for hundreds of years.
