Dora Y. (Desrosiers) Carvalho, 85, of Westport died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Kimwell Nursing Home. She was wife of the late Joe J. Carvalho.

 Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Paul E. and Mary “Aurore” (LaForest) Desrosiers, she had lived in Westport since 1961. Prior to retirement, she was a sewing machine operator for various manufacturers in the Fall River area. 

Mrs. Carvalho was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport, and a member of the Westport Senior Citizens. She was an avid bingo player.

 Survivors include a son, Joseph Carvalho Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Westport; a sister, Melina Barboza of Westport; three grandchildren, Christine Cambra, Michelle Souza and Joseph J. Carvalho III; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Albert Desrosiers, Raymond Desrosiers, Norman Desrosiers and Ann Shoesmith.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport.
