EAST PROVIDENCE — Reigning Division III champion East Providence cruised to a 6-1 victory over visiting Shea in a girls’ high school tennis match played Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 13, in city.

In singles, Lily Conti was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at the No. 2 position. Jessica Costello won her match from the three spot, 0-and-1, while Meg Amore was victorious at No. 4 by the scores of 1-and-1.

East Providence easily won the first set in each of its three doubles contests, then completed a sweep with wins under the pro-set tiebreaker format. The Townies No. 1 tandem of Rassa Luu-Emily Ramsey won by the scores of 6-1, 10-4. At No. 2, Madison Turner-Rose Lawrence won by the scores 6-0, 10-6. And at the third spot, Skyla DaSilva-Blake Trowbridge were winners by the score of 6-1, 10-1.

Shea standout Sophia Panzo accounted for the Raiders' lone point as she defeated Mary McBride 6-3, 6-1 at first singles.
