EAST PROVIDENCE — East Providence Police announced Monday, Oct. 30, what was termed a major narcotics arrest following a motor vehicle stop in Riverside over the weekend.
According to a report issued by Captain Christopher Francesconi, EPPD Patrol Division Commander, on Friday, Oct. 27, at approximately 10 p.m. Officer Franklin Britto conducted a stop on Bullocks Point Avenue, in the vicinity of Shore Road due to a moving and equipment violation. The vehicle, a red Toyota registered in New York City, was occupied by three males. During Officer Britto’s investigation, cause was developed to conduct a search of the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation the following was located and seized from the vehicle: 705 grams of cocaine, 1018 Ecstasy tablets and 1.79 grams of marijuana. The street value of the seized narcotics is approximately $45,000
Three men were arrested as a result of the incident: Jason S. Kahian, 29, from Middleborough, Mass. Kahian is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver 1 ounce - 1 kilogram of Cocaine and Possession with Intent to Deliver Ecstasy; Rafael A. Guerrero, 26, from the Bronx, N.Y. Guerrero is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver 1 ounce - 1 kilogram of Cocaine; Daniel P. Merete, 29, from the Bronx, N.Y. Merete is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver 1 ounce - 1 kilogram of Cocaine.
