The Townies continue their 2023 preseason prep at home course Agawam Hunt

The East Providence High School golf team continued to get ready for its upcoming  Interscholastic League Eastern Division  regular season schedule over the past few weeks, including a recent practice session at their home course, the Agawam Hunt Club in Rumford on Thursday, April 13.

Earlier in the week, the Townies' got some competitive swings under their collective belts by competing in the annual Challenge Cup Championship April 10-11 at Potowomut Golf Club in Warwick and Alpine Country Club in Cranston.

The Townies placed 12th out of 15 teams with a two-day total of 767 off rounds of 394 and 373, respectively, at Poto and Alpine. Seniors Chris Riel, Marcus Bostic and Austin Arruda represented EPHS as did junior Zach Mendo along with freshmen Nathan Carter and Noah Araujo.

Reigning state champion LaSalle won the team title with scores of 314-310-624. One of two Barrington High entries, Team Golf, was runner-up with 324-302-626 and Prout was third with 320-307-627.
