Leo Theophile Paquin Jr., 80, of East Providence, passed away peacefully at Cherry Hill Manor in Johnston on Thursday, June 22, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Phoebe Paquin (Cotta) for over 49 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Leo Theophile Paquin Sr. and Louise H. Bridges. Leo was the brother of the late Carol L. Paquin.

Leo proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, 115th Military Police from 1954-1963. Leo worked as a truck driver for Mr. Messenger until 1973 and later at Victor Electric Wire & Cable Corp and Concordia Manufacturing.

He worked hard but valued family time. Saturdays were date night for him and the love of his life. Sundays were reserved for family. Leo leaves six children: Larry F. Defreitas and his wife Sharon, Robert J. Defreitas of East Providence, James M. Defreitas and his companion Lynn Frassica of East Providence, Loriann Budziak and her husband Owen Budziak, Leo T. Paquin III, and Joseph Paquin and his wife Julie of Riverside. He will be missed by his 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and 2 nephews. He was grandfather to the late Jason Defreitas.

A celebration of Leo's life will be private.
