Letter: Doctor gives back to community with free clinic

To the editor,

Are you frustrated with our health care system? Do you have questions about what to do with your personal medical problems? Do you need help, someone to talk to who knows what he’s talking about regarding the medications you’re taking, how to navigate our sometimes confusing health care system, friendly advice?

Dr. Paul J. Agatiello has volunteered to bring together his staff and to personally sit down with any Bristol resident to discuss their health related concerns once a month in offices that the town has provided to him in the Burnside Building (first floor). His first day of operation will be July 25, 2-5 p.m.

SEE ALSO: The doctor is in at Burnside Building

Dr. Agatiello is a lifelong Bristolian whose roots run deep in our community. His only interest in volunteering and sharing his immense expertise is to give back to the community he truly loves. His extensive list of credentials includes his former positions as medical director at the Metacom Medical Center, honorary staff at Rhode Island Hospital, former medical director at the Bristol Veteran’s Home, and the list goes on and on. He has partnered with the town of Bristol’s Health Equity Zone, and we are extremely pleased to support his project to help raise the quality of life for all residents of Bristol 18 years old and older. Remember, this is all a free advice service. Please call for an appointment 401-396-9321 or email BristolFreeMedicalAdviceClinic@Gmail.com

I sincerely thank Dr. Agatiello for his dedication and commitment to the people of Bristol.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
