Michael Moniz, 54, Tiverton

Michael Moniz, 54, of Tiverton, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017.  Born in Fall River, he was the son of John Moniz and the late Olivia (Arruda) Moniz.

He was an assistant to the winemaker at Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyard.  Michael was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Boehr Council. 

A lover of the farm and animals, he also enjoyed music.  He was an avid New England sports fan, especially the Bruins, Patriots and the Red Sox. 

In addition to his father, he leaves his siblings (and their supportive loving spouses), John Moniz Jr., Patricia Neves, Laura Paquette, Joseph Moniz, Elaine Phipps and Wayne Moniz, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  He  also leaves his aunt Jean Moniz and her sons Tony and Joe Moniz.

Visitation was Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Road, Tiverton, prior to his funeral Mass at St. Theresa's Church, Tiverton, where he was a communicant.  Burial was at Notre Dame Cemetery.  www.almeida-pocasset.com.
