Deburgo faces two counts of fentanyl, cocaine possession and delivery

SCITUATE — The State Police have arrested an East Providence man for possessing large quantities of fentanyl pills and cocaine with the intent to deliver.

In a statement issued Wednesday afternoon, July 26, the State Police announced members of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force has taken Kenny L. Deburgo, 33, of 64 Tab Ave., into custody.

An active HIDTA Task Force investigation identified Mr. Deburgo as a large-scale distributor of fentanyl-laced pills in the greater Providence area. As a result of the investigation, on July 21, the Task Force executed a motor vehicle stop in the city of Cranston.

As a result, the following items were seized in his possession: 325 fentanyl pills; Approximately two grams of Cocaine; and $535 in cash. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is between $9,000 and $10,000.

Mr. Deburgo has been charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule I-II (Fentanyl) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine).

Mr. Deburgo was processed at State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks and subsequently transported to Third Division District Court for arraignment this afternoon.

Every person violating the provisions of Manufacture/Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, classified in Schedule I or II, upon conviction may be imprisoned for not more than 30 years, or fined not more than $100,000 nor less than $3,000 or both.
