PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High School Athletic Hall of Fame will welcome its second induction class during ceremonies at the Green Valley Country Club on Saturday, Oct. 6, starting at 4:30 p.m.

Cocktails and refreshments will be served from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., followed by the inductee and team awards from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

According to Hall of Fame Committee chairman John F. Blaess, this year’s group, like the inaugural class last year, is exceptional in every way.

“This year's class offers a diverse selection of student athletes, as well as a longtime booster, radio announcer and cross-country and gymnastics coach,” said Mr. Blaess. “We're honoring athletes who were All-Americans, as well as First Team All-State selections. Many former students were also honored for their work in the classroom featuring valedictorians, as well as state scholar athletes. It should be a rewarding night for all.”

Hall of Fame Committee members are Mr. Blaess, chairman, and Fran Blaess, Mike Lunney, Mike Stinton, Greg Gizzi and Shaun Horgan.
