Letter: Alliance helps give peace a chance

In honor of International Peace Day, a tip of my hat goes to the people of the Sakonnet Peace Alliance in Little Compton.

For more than 20 years, they have gathered in silent witness, calling awareness to the folly of violence.

Their presence on the Commons every Sunday morning reminds church goers and passersby about taking responsibility for creating a world free of armed conflict.
