PORTSMOUTH — Attention local businesses: The Parents Helping Students Organization (PHSO) at Portsmouth High School could use your help.
On June 5, the members of the PHS Class of 2019 will celebrate their senior prom. Directly afterwards, graduating seniors and their guests will attend the 22nd Post Prom Party held at the Glen Manor House.
This event, organized and run by parents of the seniors, allows students a safe and alcohol/drug-free environment. Last year, 98 percent of the PHS seniors who attended the prom ended up attending the party.
The evening features a series of raffles, each for a bigger and better prize than the one before, with a grand prize drawing at 2 a.m. As the suspense builds, the students are motivated to stay for the entire program; in fact, they must be present to claim their prizes.
The event will feature a photo booth, multiple games and other entertainment throughout the evening. There will also be plenty of food and refreshments.
PHS students and parents are looking for support from the local business community to make the Post Prom Party a success.
Tax-deductible contributions in the form of cash, gift certificates, tickets or merchandise will be used for door prizes and raffle gifts.
Checks can be made payable to PHSO Post Prom and mailed to:
