EAST PROVIDENCE — The East Providence Police Department is seeking assistance from the general public in relation to its ongoing investigation into a string of automobile parts thefts.
EPPD Chief William Nebus issued a statement noting investigators seized more than 150 tires and rims from a business located in city at 912 Broadway on Sunday, March 31. The vast majority of the rims are from the vehicle’s manufacturer.
The rims and tires are believed to be part of a ring of recent robberies throughout the area. The EPPD is continuing its investigation with law enforcement outfits around the region.
Chief Nebus’ statement included a photo (pictured) of a set of tires and rims, 26-inch chrome aftermarket wheels with Toyo low profile tires, that was included in the stash taken from the scene.
Anyone who can assist in identifying the owner of these tires and rims or if anyone can identify these tires as having been stolen or sold, they’re asked to contact EPPD Detective Stephen Rodrigues at 401-435-7600 ext. 20036.
