Verity Branco making her way to stage and screen

Posted

From elementary school to Westport High School School, Verity Branco’s passion has been her love of acting.

After high school graduation, she attended California State University Northridge where she performed in many main stage productions in the theatre department landing lead roles in the musical Hair, Chekhov’s The Three Sisters and Nickle & Dimed. She then went on to receive a full scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin where she completed her Master’s Degree in Fine Arts.

In Texas, Verity quickly landed an agent, booked jobs commercially and had films premier in the South by Southwest Film Festival. She mounted a one woman show called A Skeptic’s Guide to Marriage and went on to take over the role of Mimi Marquez in the musical, Rent.

Now back in Los Angeles, Verity teaches acting, voice and speech at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Hollywood as well as at California State University Northridge.

She has worked in numerous films and TV shows and most recently she has been on the S.W.A.T CBS television series.

Verity’s unapologetic food blog on YouTube - The Foodie Girls - was picked up by the Food Network and she was listed in Glamour Magazine as one of the “Top 10 Funny Ladies to Follow”.

She enjoys creating her own work at every opportunity. Verity was nominated for a Beyond Betchal Playwrighting Award for her all female cast play entitled SpiritWheel: A Peek Inside the Cult of Spin, a comedy mocking the trendy workout scene in Los Angeles.

Currently, as a theatre member of The Road Theatre Company of Los Angeles she is starring in the world premiere of Death House by Jason Karasev. The stage production opens on January 19 where she is originating the role of Lilliana Rice, a death row inmate.

Verity is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild and currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two cats. She always looks forward to time off when she can head to her beloved Westport.
