Jerome Leslie Francis (Jerry) of Little Compton and the Woodlands, Texas, passed away on Feb. 15, 2018. He died peacefully at home with his family after a very short-term diagnosis of cancer.

Jerry was born in Seattle, Wash. He was the eldest son of Leslie and Phyllis Francis. Jerry was a graduate of the University of Washington and San Francisco Law School. He met his wife Jen Hough in San Francisco in 1967, and they were married in 1968 in Rhode Island.

They decided to stay on the east coast and they settled in Sudbury, Mass. After passing the Massachusetts bar, Jerry started his own law practice in Sudbury. Three years later, he was hired as a corporate attorney for Texaco, Inc. They moved with the company, first to Cherry Hill, N.J., then to Denver and finally to the Houston area. They settled in the Woodlands, Texas, in 1989.

They visited Little Compton every summer and in 2009, took over the family house on Taylors Lane. Since then, they have spent 4 to 6 months in Little Compton.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Jen, two children, David Francis and Catherine Francis and her husband, Ryan Hart, and five grandchildren: Avery, Britton and Emerson Francis and Caroline and Henry Hart.  He is also survived by his brother, Roger Francis, his wife, Debby, and niece, Trisha Robinson, and numerous cousins.
