Little Compton Community First (LCCF) will be host the “2018 LCCF Town Council Candidate Forum” at the Little Compton Community Center beginning at 7 p.m. on On Tuesday, October 16 .

Organizers said they have received confirmation of participation from nine of the ten candidates for Town Council. These candidates are (alphabetically):

Monica Hopton (Republican)

Gary Mataronas (Republican incumbent)

Andrew Moore (Democrat)

Karen Ryan (Democrat)

… Fred Bodington (Republican incumbent) is unavailable to participate.

As with the 2016 forum, the format will include brief introductory statements from each candidate followed by a list of five questions that each candidate will answer during a prescribed amount of time. The five questions being asked of each candidate have been gathered by LCCF with two created by the Little Compton Republican Town Committee, two created by the Little Compton Democratic Town Committee, and one chosen at random as submitted by the LCCF membership.

The candidates will have received these questions one week in advance of the forum date. The questions will be posed by a moderator. There will be no audience interaction or interaction between the candidates. Upon completion of the questions section, each candidate will be allowed a brief closing statement. There will be a meet-and-greet with light refreshments served following the forum.
