To the editor:
On Saturday, June 24, The Sogkonate Garden Club will present, The Living Landscape, the third in a series of successful yearly programs that promote the creation of more sustainable landscapes.
This program is free of charge and features two nationally-known speakers – Doug Tallamy and Rick Darke. Mr. Tallamy is the author of the bestselling book, Bringing Nature Home. Mr. Darke’s, The American Woodland Garden, blends art, ecology and cultural geography to demonstrate the creation and conservation of livable landscapes.
We believe that it is very important to keep these programs free of charge in order to give as many people as possible the opportunity to hear this important message. However, we could not have done this without the generous support of the many organizations and individuals in Little Compton and surrounding communities who are also committed to the protection of our beautiful environment. We want to take this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to these supporters in advance for making this year’s program possible.
The Living Landscape will be held at the Wilbur and McMahon School on Saturday, June 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Although space is limited, there is room for a few more attendees. Registration can be completed on our website, www.Sogkonate.org. We hope to see you there.
