Little Compton Police: Ocean Drive beach parking complaints

Tuesday, Aug. 15

At 7;34 a.m., a Burchard Avenue resident called to complain about crop cannons going off at 6:55 a.m.

At 9:28 a.m., a resident on Goodrich Lane reported that a set of silverware was taken from the residence.

Wednesday, Aug. 16

At 12:51 a.m., Ernest Cordeiro, 56, of Westport was charged with operating a motor vehicle on a revoked license after he was stopped for a laned roadway violation. He also had an active bench warrant for failure to appear for driving with a suspended license.

A caller reported at 10:51 a.m. that a man was metal detecting without permission at the Friends Meeting House on West Main Road.

Thursday, Aug. 17

A vehicle went off the road on Town Way at 10:53 a.m., and struck a large rock. There was heavy damage to the driver's side tire and the driver's side bumper. No injuries were reported.

At 2:36 p.m., a resident of Peckham Road reported receiving a scam phone call. The caller claimed to represent a federal magistrate.

At 6:35 p.m., a West Main Road resident reported loud music coming from the area of Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyard.

At 7:36 p.m., another West Main Road resident reported loud music coming from the area of Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyard.

Sunday, Aug. 20

A resident of Old Barn Road called at 10:16 a.m. to report a large number of vehicles parked at 5 Ocean Drive.

Similar calls came in from other residences with the same complaint at 11:32 a.m.,at 1:09 p.m., and at 1:14 p.m.
