PORTSMOUTH — Portsmouth public school students mini-vacation has been expanded once again. as classes have been cancelled for Tuesday, March 14.

School was closed Friday due to last week’s snowstorm and, with a professional development day on Monday and another snow day on Tuesday, that means students won't see the inside of a classroom for five straight days.

Several private schools also won’t be opening their doors tomorrow, including St. Philomena School, Aquidneck Island Christian Academy and Bradley School.

Town Hall and the transfer station are also closed all day Tuesday.

Police have issued a parking ban starting 6 a.m. on Tuesday that will go until further notice.

The Aquidneck Island Planning Commission has cancelled its Newport County Legislative Forum at the Community College of Rhode Island-Newport that was scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, due to uncertainty surrounding weather conditions that morning.
