Quilters by the Sea presents-Karen Eckmeier Lecture-Trunk Show

Posted by QuiltersbytheSea

Join us at our regular monthly meeting for this month's guest lecture and quilt trunk show by Karen Eckmeier of The Quilted Lizard Fiber Arts Studio. Karen will give her lecture "Accidental Landscapes and Happy Villages" in which she shares two totally different approaches to playing with fabrics: Fabric collage (Happy Villages) and layered/topstitching (Accidental Landscapes). This lighthearted and informative power point presentation will show you how the techniques evolved and will inspire you to try fabric collage or layered/topstitching in your own creations. (See"http://www.quilted-lizard.com"). Included is a mini trunk show.

Free to members. Guests are welcome for a $5 fee. Come to a meeting to see if quilting is for you. New members are always welcome. Karen will offer a half day workshop on Friday, June 8, 2018. Limited space available. Send email inquiries to "quiltersbytheseari@gmail.com" and see separate post for Friday, June 8, 2018.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
