Robert Schofield, 93, Westport

Robert Schofield, 93, of Westport, peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, with his family by his side. He was the husband of Valorie J. (Crossman) Schofield and the late Ethelyn (Payson) Schofield.

Mr. Schofield was born in New Bedford, son of the late Robert M. and Jeanne (Norwood) Schofield, and had been a long-time resident of Westport. A veteran of World War II, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing on the Westport River.

Survivors, along with his wife, include his four sons, Robert M. Schofield, Scott D. Schofield, Paul C. Schofield and Keith A. Schofield; four daughters, Martha L. Duarte-Rudnik, Nancy L. Goski-Schofield, Rebecca A. Schofield and Beth E. Ferreira; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Gilbert Schofield, Milton Schofield, David Schofield, Bradford Schofield and Grant Schofield.

His memorial service, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be Saturday, March 17, at the Dartmouth Bible Church at 10 a.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dartmouth Bible Church, 52 Morton Ave., Dartmouth, MA 02747.
