Posted

The Bristol Harbormaster’s Office and the local fishing community are teaming up, once again, to host the 5th Annual Bristol Harbor Festival & Blessing of the Fleet on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Rockwell Park on Thames Street in historic Bristol, RI.

The event kicks off with a Blessing of the Fleet for commercial and recreational vessels at 1:30 p.m., followed by a full range of family activities, including:

• "Stuffie" Competition,

• Live Music,

• Tours of Fishing Vessels,

• And, the highlight - a traditional native Littleneck Boil, caught and prepared by local fishermen

**Please see website https://bristolharborfest.com/ full schedule of events.

There will be one seating for the Littleneck Boil from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. There is also an option for a steak dinner in lieu of the Littleneck Boil. Tickets for the event are $20.00 per person. Each ticket sold will include a free hot dog dinner for children. There will also be a cash raw bar, as well as beer and wine. Tickets can be purchased online at https://bristolharborfest.com/ or in person at the Harbormaster's Office.

As a result of last year's generous sponsors, the committee will be sending two Bristol children to Save the Bay's camp at the Bristol Maritime Center this summer. This year, we intend to use the proceeds to promote and memorialize Bristol’s fishing history and industry.

The Bristol Harbor Festival has become a much anticipated signature event for the Town of Bristol. Various levels of sponsorship are available. Please contact Bristol Harbormaster Gregg Marsili at 401-253-1700 or gmarsili@bristolri.us.

The mission of the Harbor Festival is to promote use of the waterfront and to strengthen ties between the Bristol Harbormaster’s Office, the local fishing community and those who choose to explore Bristol by land or by sea.
