She was educated at Gettysburg College and received a master’s degree from Penn State University. It was during her time at Penn State that she met Tom. She began her career as a teacher, teaching in both in York, Pennsylvania and Bristol, R.I.

Over the years, she enjoyed traveling, a good game of bridge with friends, and most of all, entertaining in her home; she loved preparing a big meal for family and friends. Dorothy also participated in the Swanhurst Chorus in Newport.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Thomas Davis; her daughter and son-in-law, Joanna and Larry Davis-Swing of Fair Lawn, N.J.; her grandchildren, Mallery, Allen, and Kendall Davis-Swing; three dear cousins, Mary Beth Brenneman of Sturgiss, MI, Charie Babcock of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and Earle Babcock of Cincinnati, Ohio; and her aunt, Yolanda Mallery of Canfield, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her son, Colin Davis.
