Fred Prendergast of Parrish, Fla. (formally of Portsmouth, R.I.) passed away on Aug. 16, 2018 at Bay Pines VA Healthcare Center after a short illness.

He was born Oct. 12, 1940 in Fall River, Mass. to the late John W. and Valna (Pariseau) Prendergast.

Fred served in the Navy from 1958 to 1964. After leaving the Navy he worked for Fairholm Dairy, Eastern A.I. and Delesandro Farm.

Fred is survived by his companion, Linda Wrathall; sister, Carol Lamb (John) of Colorado; his children, Deborah Sleeper (Lance), Dean Prendergast (Margaret) and Rayleen Prendergast, all of Portsmouth. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

He preceded in death by his son, Sean Prendergast, and brother, Ronald Prendergast.

Friends and family will gather and raise a parting glass on Sunday, Sept. 9 from 2-4 p.m. at the Lil’ Bear Sports Lounge, Main Road, Tiverton.
