Question: Where can you get a great meal for ten bucks for helping your community?

Answer: Easy. St. Barnabas Parish Church Hall on the next three Friday nights from 5 to 8 pm.

The Portsmouth Chapter of the Knights of Columbus is sponsoring fish dinners for the next three Friday nights. 5-8 pm. $10 per person. Strongly urge getting tickets in advance.

But these are not your typical church fish dinners. No, sir!

Fresh fish from New Bedford with homemade hollandaise sauce. Corn and shrimp chowder. Salad. Mashed potatoes. Dessert and more.

And a small army of young people serving with smiles.

Plenty of seats and tables. 

You get a whole dinner — a quality meal — for the same price as a fish sandwich and French fries at a fast-food joint.

So, dear reader, give the cook a night off, brown bag your favorite quaff, head over to St. Barnabas each of the next Friday nights with your friends for some good conversation, good food and good community.
