PORTSMOUTH — A banged-up Portsmouth High School varsity football team earned a gritty come-from-behind Homecoming victory when it beat Shea, 14-7, on the turf field Saturday.

The Raiders were leading by a score of 7-0 in the fourth quarter before the Patriots finally got on the board, thanks to a 10-yard touchdown run by Shane Harvey.

Later in the quarter Harvey ran it in again, this time from a yard out, to seal the victory for the Patriots.

Portsmouth stayed with its ground game for most of the day, accumulating 224 yards rushing and only 14 through the air.

The team will travel to Woonsocket for 1 p.m. game on Saturday, Oct. 15. The Patriots will be back home on Friday, Oct. 21, to host Barrington.
