Portsmouth Police deal with DWIs, larceny

Here are some highlights from the Portsmouth Police report from over the past week.

Saturday, April 13

Roberta J. Robella, 49, of 16 Vesper Lane, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation on Route 24 South at Sprague Street around 2:10 a.m. Police also cited her for refusing a chemical test. 

Stephen S. Souza, 27, of 217 Spring Hill Road, was charged with larceny of under $1,500 and seven counts of passing counterfeit money. He was arrested on a warrant by Middletown Police and transferred to Portsmouth Police at about 1:30 p.m.

Brittany P. Cook, 23, of 57 Woodland Drive, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) following a motor vehicle accident on Woodland Drive around 4:45 p.m. Ms. Cooks was also cited for refusing a chemical test.

Shannon M. Pine, 40, of 3 Admiralty Drive, Apt. 7, Middletown, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation on East Main Road at Middle Road just before midnight. Ms. Pine was also cited for refusing a chemical test.

Tuesday, April 16

Merle J. Cornell, Jr., 49, of 2317 East Main Road, was charged with being a fugitive from justice after being arrested on a bench warrant issued from 2nd District Court around 2:15 p.m.

Rose M. Aldana, 27, of 2096 East Main Road, was arrested on a bench warrant issued from 2nd District Court the vehicle she was in was pulled over for a traffic violation on East Main Road around 4:15 p.m.

Thursday, April 18

James P. Moy, 20, of 13 Circle Drive, Middletown, was charged with reckless driving/drag racing/eluding police after he was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 24 North at Cedar Island shortly before 2 a.m.
