Posted

PORTSMOUTH — A local man was charged with domestic felony assault Saturday for allegedly pointing a gun at his girlfriend during an argument, police said.

Kevin Silvia, 53, of 2859 East Main Road was arrested around noon on Aug. 12 after police had issued a warrant, according to Lt. Michael C. Arnold.

The alleged assault took place on Aug. 5, he said.

Here are some other highlights from the Portsmouth Police report from over the past week.

Wednesday, Aug. 9

A car driven by Marie Farstad of North Dartmouth struck and killed a deer that had run out in front of the vehicle on Turnpike Avenue near the Route 24 overpass around 4:30 p.m. The vehicle sustained minor damage to its front fender, police said.

Friday, Aug. 11

Tiffany Hanks, 38, of 2418 East Main Road, was charged with domestic assault shortly after 9 p.m. Lt. Arnold said a man claimed Ms. Hanks had punched him in the face.

Police responded to the Weaver Cove boat ramp around 12:35 p.m. to investigate a report of an abandoned boat trailer. The 17-foot trailer had no wheels and was missing its license plate and any other identifying marks. Police said it appeared that the VIN plate had been removed purposefully.

Sunday, Aug. 13

Ryan Donahue, 21, of Avon, Conn., was charged with driving while intoxicated after being pulled over for a traffic violation around 6:10 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 14

Davon Silva, 19, of 17 San Jose Drive, Bristol, was charged with vandalism in connection with an incident that took place July 11. On that date, Lt. Arnold said, a group of 20 to 30 people, both juveniles and adults, gathered for a fight on a West Shore Road property. Mr. Silva, who allegedly kicked a Volkswagen Jetta parked there, was identified through posts and video on social media, Lt. Arnold said. Portsmouth Police issued a warrant and police in Bristol picked him up on Monday, Lt. Arnold said.

Tuesday, Aug. 15

Craig Franklin, 34, of Attleboro, Mass., was arrested around 4 p.m. on a Super Court bench warrant.

Wednesday, Aug. 16
