The Farish family welcomes the Roger Williams community this Thursday to remember the late President Donald J. Farish one last time after he took to a sudden illness on July 5 of this year. The Bristol residents, Maia Farish and her children welcomed members of Alumni, Faculty, Staff, students, family, and friends into their home after the service to remember and celebrate the life and achievements of their beloved Mr. Farish.

People from all areas of his life rejoiced in his lovely home on Ferry Road to remember and share the changes he brought to the University, the nurturing nature of his leadership, and the memories they all have of the man he once was. According to Meghan Hansen, from the department of Alumni Relations, the entire faculty and staff of RWU has felt this loss and continues to mourn as they line up outside his home to give their condolences.

As the University begins to prepare for the upcoming Fall semester, the professors and administration are also preparing to transition from one trusted leader that has served them for 7 years and committed the school “to strengthen society through engaged teaching and learning” to the interim leadership from provost and Senior Vice President, Andrew Workman. RWU has stated they are still in search of a temporary replacement to fill the void of their late respected President Farish.
