PORTSMOUTH — A 52-year-old Swansea woman was arrested last week after she allegedly eluded police officers in two communities.

Shortly after noon on Friday, Feb. 9, officers were advised of a vehicle entering Portsmouth after its driver had eluded police in Bristol, according to police.

Patrol officers attempted to pull the vehicle over on Boyds Lane after it had entered Portsmouth, but the driver eluded them at a high rate of speed, police said.

An affidavit/arrest warrant was issued for the person who was identified as the driver, Kimberly L. Ouellette, of 241 Swansom Road, and she later turned herself in at 2nd District Court in Newport, according to police.

Ouellette was charged with reckless driving, eluding officers with a motor vehicle in a high-speed pursuit.

Here are some more recent arrests by Portsmouth Police:

Friday, Feb. 9

Robert F. McManus, 54, of 115 Col. Christopher Greene Road, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), first offense, after he was pulled over on Hedly Street at Long Meadow Road at about 5:40 p.m. According to police, McManus had been traveling around 25 mph on a road posted for 45 mph, and he also wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. He was also cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test, his second offense, according to police. McManus was later issued a district court summons and released to a sober driver, police said.

Sunday, Feb. 11

Emeline Marie McKeown, 36, of 26 Second St., Newport, was charged with DUI, first offense, and operating without an active license. McKeown was pulled over on Bristol Ferry Road at Porters Lane around 11:40 p.m. after she was observed making an illegal left-hand turn at the corner of Boyds Lane and Bristol Ferry Road, police said. McKeown was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test. She was later released into the custody of a sober adult, police said.
