PORTSMOUTH — Local schools didn’t waste any time in canceling classes for Thursday in anticipation of a major snowstorm coming our way.
There will be no school in Portsmouth Thursday, and no afternoon activities.
The same goes for Pennfield School, St. Philomena School, the Aquidneck Island Christian Academy and Bradley School.
The Portsmouth Multi-Purpose Senior Center will also be closed, and no elderly meals will be served.
Also closing Thursday is Portsmouth Town Hall and the transfer station, which are expected to re-open Friday, Feb. 10.
A parking ban is in effect from 7 a.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. on Friday.
