Barrington sweeps Portsmouth, Middletown in golf match

BARRINGTON — The Barrington High Eagles foursome shot a 170 to sweep Portsmouth and Middletown in an Eastern Division golf match at the Rhode Island Country Club on Tuesday, April 23.

Barrington’s Connor Sullivan and Ryan Ricci both shot a 41 on the nine-hole, par-36 course. Teammates Jake Andreozzi and Brendan Fay managed a 43 and 45, respectively.

The Patriots came in second with a collective score of 178. Their individual tallies were: Mike Gabriel (43), Lucas Oliveira (43), Mike Nardolillo (46) and Shamus Sullivan (46).

The Islanders’ Mason Gilman shot the lowest score for the day, an even-par 36. His teammates scores were as follows: Alexander Digby (58), James Cawley (64) and Ryan Peltz (71), for a collective score of 229.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
