Dorothy (Henrique) Barcellos, 87, Portsmouth

Dorothy (Henrique) Barcellos, 87, of Portsmouth, RI and Hillsboro, Fla., passed away on Oct. 16, 2017 with her family by her side. 

She was the daughter of the late John Henrique and Olive (Simmons) Henrique. She was the wife of the late Joseph C. Barcellos. They were married for over 60 years.

Dorothy was a seamstress by trade, starting her career in a dress factory in Fall River, Mass., before moving to Florida with her husband. There they joined the Hillsboro Club, where Joseph became the head of security and Dorothy the club’s seamstress, director of babysitting and the assistant to the general manager. She retired at age 78. 

She is survived by her children, Stephen A. Domingues, Sr. and Kenneth Domingues and his wife Audrey; five grandchildren, Kimberly Hollen, Jason Domingues, Stephen A. Domingues, Jr., Kenneth Domingues and Anne K. Trinque; as well as 14 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol, RI. Burial will follow in The Cremation Garden at North Burial Ground Cemetery, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
