Karen Eckmeier Quilt Workshop-Accidental Landscapes-Beaches

Join us for a half day workshop with author and quilter Karen Eckmeier of The Quilted Lizard Fiber Art Studio. Karen will run a workshop called "Accidental Landscapes:Beaches" using her layered topstitch approach to creating a small art quilt. The workshop is sponsored by Quilters by the Sea Quilt Guild but is open to members of the public for a fee of $30. PLEASE NOTE LOCATION CHANGE:The workshop will be held at ATRIA AQUIDNECK PLACE, 125 Quaker Hill Lane, Portsmouth, RI 02871, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Meet members of the Guild and other sewing enthusiasts in a fun, collaborative sewing environment.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
