PORTSMOUTH — If the long lines on Wednesday were any indication, Common Fence Point Improvement Association’s (CFPIA) food truck series should be a success.
The CFPIA debuted its “We Don’t Have to Cook Wednesdays” series, which features different food trucks parked outside of the community hall (933 Anthony Road), from 5-7:30 p.m. through the end of October.
Yesterday, trucks from Baby’s Bonetown BBQ and Sarcastic Sweets drew long lines of visitors who feasted on everything from brisket, pulled pork and collard greens to brownies, cookies and cupcakes.
Diners had the option of eating inside the community hall, or enjoying their meals al fresco style.
Here are the other food trucks coming in September:
Sept. 6: Jeff’s Wood Fired Pizza, Burgundian’s Coffee and Waffles
Sept. 13: Red’s RI Street Kitchen, Sarcastic Sweets
Sept. 20: Roadrunner New Mexico Tacos, Burgundian’s Coffee and Waffles
Sept. 27: Buddha Belly, Sarcastic Sweets
Italian dinner Sept. 15
The food truck series isn’t the only thing CFPIA has cooking up.
Its fifth annual Italian Night Dinner is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 15, at the community hall. Serving begins at 6 p.m.
The menu features pasta and meatballs with marinara sauce, dessert, soft drinks and coffee. There will also be a raffle drawing during the dinner.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12.
Seating is limited, so tickets must be purchased in advance. Click here or call Barbara Jones at 401/524-2565 or Kary Miksis at 401/585-6488.
