Patricia A. (Regan) Owen, 78, of Prudence Island, R.I. and Stoughton, Mass., formerly of Easton, Mass., died unexpectedly on May 14, 2018, after successfully overcoming complications of a recent surgery.

Born Nov. 20, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Elinor (Andrews) Regan.

Mrs. Owen was married for 57 years to her loving husband, and fellow islander, Richard Owen, who preceded her in death in 2016. She is survived by two children, Stacey Blount and her husband, Kevin, of Sandwich, Mass., and Charlene LaFerriere and her husband, Brian, of Stoughton, Mass.

She leaves behind her four grandchildren, Dan and Chris Blount of Bristol, Jill LaFerriere of Washington, D.C., and Kelsie LaFerriere of Stoughton, Mass.

Pat graduated from Stoughton High and worked at John Hancock in Boston before leaving to raise her family. Later, she worked in the Easton Public Schools helping students of all abilities reach their full potential. She also enjoyed tutoring students. One of her greatest joys was helping “her kids” overcome obstacles and celebrating in their success.

Pat was a summer resident of Prudence Island. After retirement, she and her husband, Dick, spent the majority of their time on the island.

Friends and family are invited to join us for a celebration of her life, to be held at the Elks Club, 1 Constitution St., Bristol, R.I., on Saturday, May 19, from noon to 3 p.m.

Donations may be made in Pat’s memory to the P.I. Historical Society or the Prudence Improvement Association.
