PORTSMOUTH — No injuries were reported after a school bus and car collided this morning on East Main Road and Hedly Street, police said.

According to Detective Lt. Michael C. Arnold, officers responded to what was reported as a minor accident around 8:35 a.m. 

The bus, driven by Debbie Ann Boone of Portsmouth, was on its way to Hathaway School to drop off students, he said, adding there were 41 occupants aboard.

The bus was traveling northbound on East Main Road and was attempting to turn onto Hedly Street when it was sideswiped by a 2014 Ford Fusion driven by Stephanie Rosenthal of Tiverton that was going in the same direction, he said. There was minor damage to both vehicles.

“At the time of this investigation no students or operators of the vehicles were injured during the accident,” Lt. Arnold said in a prepared statement. “Both vehicles were able to leave under their own power. No citations were issued for either operator.”
