Portsmouth Police deal with alleged assault, DWIs

Here are some highlights from the Portsmouth Police reports from over the past week.

Tuesday, April 2

George S. Hollins, 67, of 51 Middle Road, Apt. 217, was charged with simple assault after police reported to the Anthony House Apartments around 8:40 a.m. to investigate a report of an assault.

Delbert E. Watts, 50, of 76 President Ave., turned himself in just before 10 a.m. on a warrant charging him with breaking and entering a home without the owner’s consent.

Edmond J. Allard, 32, of 161 Downing St., Fall River, was arrested on a 2nd District Court bench warrant after the vehicle he was in was stopped on Bristol Ferry Road at Brownell Lane around 6:10 p.m. for a traffic violation.

Thursday, April 4

Carlos A. Silva, Jr., 34, of 49 Benefit St., Apt. 1, Pawtucket, was arrested on a warrant after the vehicle he was in was stopped for a traffic violation on Chase Road at Birchwood Drive around 11:20 a.m.

Saturday, April 6

Andrew T. Donahue, 48, of 181 Hilltop Drive, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation on West Main Road at King Charles Drive around 1 a.m. Mr. Donahue was also cited for refusing a chemical test, police said.

Sunday, April 7

William J. Rose, 51, of 60 Jordan Ave., Cranston, was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense) after being pulled over for a traffic violation on Norseman Drive at Boyds Lane around 1 a.m. He was also cited for refusing a chemical test (second offense).

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
