Portsmouth to host informational meeting on coyotes Tuesday

PORTSMOUTH — The Town of Portsmouth and the Portsmouth Police Department are hosting an informational meeting about coyotes at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, in the Town Council Chambers at Town Hall, 2200 East Main Road.
Police Chief Thomas Lee said the scheduling of the workshop was prompted by an increase in coyote sightings in areas of town where the animals have normally not been seen before, such as the Sea Meadow Drive area.
The meeting will feature a presentation by Dr. Numi Mitchell of the Narragansett Bay Coyote Study.
