The cutting of the budget of the United States Coast Guard is ridiculous
if the goal of today is to enforce illegal immigration, thwart the huge import
of illegal drugs, protect our ports and harbors from terrorist activity, protect
our water and oceans from oil and other pollutants, or assist the navy and
other government agencies in national security.
In short, it is short sighted and stupidity squared.
