Remember the "Walkout"

The genesis of this disaster was when construction was behind and the kids had to eat out of a tent. Then came the rats and swarms of bees so they moved to the gymnasium. I remember kids lining the hallways in complete disrespect of a faculty that had no control. Principal after Principal, Dean after Dean, some of us will never forget the chaos and confusion of this horrendous idea that was followed with high drug use and average, at best, test scores.

Give Warren the millions and De-regionalize. Barboza should start with an apology to the Town of Bristol for getting us into this mess.

Let Bristol and Warren COMPETE in EDUCATION, and maybe we can come close to the schools of Barrington. Bristol alone has the potential to be so much more than what it is with having the dead weight of Warren to carry around.

How many of these commenters actually went through the system? Exactly.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
