Agnes E. O’Brien, 99, East Providence

Agnes E. O’Brien (Tullson), 99, wife of the late John F. O’Brien, died on April 24, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the daughter of the late Christian and Alma (Quist) Tullson.
Agnes retired as a file clerk from Zietz, Mittleman & Webster and in her youth worked at the Handy Shop in Rumford. She enjoyed playing golf.
Surviving her is her youngest brother, Russell H. Tullson and his wife Shirley of Swansea. She leaves 14 nieces and nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers; Einar H., R. Vernon, and Richard O. Tullson and her sisters; Mildred G. Strunz and Evelyn V. Tullson and her niece Anne M. Johnsen.
Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 2, at 11 a.m. in J.H. Williams & Co. Funeral Home, 210 Taunton Ave. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery. Relatives & friends are invited and may call from 10-11 a.m. prior the service.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
