EAST PROVIDENCE — Thankfully, the threat of inclement weather never materialized, leaving the third edition of "the looff: East Providence Arts Festival," sponsored by the East Providence Arts Council, to go off as planned Saturday, Aug. 12, at the site of the historic Looff Carousel on the grounds of Crescent Park.

East Providence Post and eastbayri.com contributing photographer Rupert Whiteley shot the accompanying gallery of pictures from the day's events.

Some photos will also appear in the August 17 free print edition of The Post.
