EAST PROVIDENCE — The 14th Annual East Providence Police Department memorial service takes place on Wednesday evening, May 30, at its headquarters, the Major Alister McGregor Public Safety Complex beginning at 6 p.m.
The event continues a tradition, the origins of which date back to 1962, when President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls as Police Week.
