EAST PROVIDENCE — No school in East Providence...

The superintendent's office has officially canceled classes for Tuesday, March 14, in anticipation of heavy snow.

Also, the school committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening has been postponed as well. The new date for the meeting is Monday, March 20.

A number of local entities are also preparing for the anticipated blizzard on Tuesday, March 14, by canceling activities and events.

Bay View and the Gordon School have already postponed classes.

The City of East Providence has canceled probate court proceedings and the senior center will be closed.

And the East Providence Police have initiated a parking ban, which takes effect at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The Chamber of Commerce's Business During Hours at Wannamoisett Country Club has been cancelled and rescheduled to Tuesday, March 21.

Please contact the Chamber office if you registered for the March 14 event and are unable to attend on March 21.

The East Providence Public Works Department, Recycling/Refuse Division announces that due to the winter storm warning and blizzard watch for our area there will be no rubbish collection on Tuesday, March 14.

Tuesday’s collection will be delayed to Wednesday resulting in a one day delay for the remainder of the week. Residents are asked to have all materials at the curb by 6 a.m. on the day of collection.
