Leon Francis Dobridnia, 96, Bristol

Leon Francis Dobridnia, 96, of Fort Hill Road, passed away on June 20, 2017 at Grace Barker Manor. He was the husband of the late Rita (Corey) Dobridnia.

Born in Lynn, Mass., he was the son of the late John and Charlotte (Brown) Dobridnia. He was the father of Michael Dobridnia; grandfather of Breana Guinan, Brittany Dobridnia and Corey Dobridnia; great grandfather of Lindsey Guinan, LeighAnn Guinan, Michael Kennedy and Emma Kennedy; and the uncle of Carol Haye and Suzanne Slinko.

Mr. Dobridnia served in the US Army during World War II and the Korean War. After leaving active duty, he enlisted in the US Army Reserve Special Forces and served as a command sergeant major. He graduated from Bryant College and was employed as a computer software engineer for the Outlet, Kaiser and Technor Apex before retiring.

His funeral services will be held Saturday, June 24, 9 a.m., from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 141 State St. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours are Friday, 4 -7 p.m.
