EAST PROVIDENCE — The East Providence Police Department announced late Friday afternoon, Jan. 12, its investigation into what it termed a “suspicious” death the previous evening in the Rumford section of the city.

The victim was identified as Clive Bridgham, a resident of Pleasant Street where the incident took place.

According to the report, police responded to the scene at about 8:40 p.m. Thursday night, Jan. 11. Officers were answering a well-being check request called in on the victim. The responding officers found an “unresponsive male” on the floor in a room of the residence and determined him to be deceased at that time.

Police said the death is being investigated as a homicide.
