Bulldogs edge East Providence in Division 3 finale

PROVIDENCE — The East Providence High School Unified Basketball League squad fell to Westerly, 26-22, in the Division 3 championship game played Sunday afternoon, May 5, at LaSalle Academy.

A close game throughout, the Bulldogs edged the Townies down the stretch. Connor Pedini and Alex Santos shared team-high scoring honors for East Providence with six points apiece. Issiah Lopes added four.

The Townies advanced to the Division 3 title game for the third year in a row after the Townies defeated Toll Gate 33-24 in the semis played at home Wednesday afternoon, May 1.

The EPHS roster of athletes included Fred Caraballo, Cam Chabot, Ethan Conley, Issiah Lopes, Angelo Masso, Alicia Pacheco, Connor Pedini, Maia Pereira, Alexander Santos, Tyler Soares and Kyle Soares.

Partners were Anthony DiCiantis, Jonah Grillo, Colby Landry, Shawn Meehan, Marc Reyes, Anthony Souza and Susanne Willis.

Jason Medieros served as team manager. Kristen Coutoulakis was the head coach, assisted by Bruce Zarembka and Marc Laurino.
